I can't believe that it's May already and that it's Mother's Day this weekend! As I've been racking my brain trying to think of things to get my mom, I remembered a special little gem that I made her a few years ago. I loved it so much, I made one for myself also...a cute little note board made from a serving plate!
This is super simple to make, and great to have around! I have used mine to track almost everything in our household. Currently, it lists all of our go-to meals. One of things that we always ask each other is "what do you want to eat?" "I don't know, what do you want to eat?". Well, now I just say look at the board and figure it out :) lol
To make it, you just need to find yourself a pretty serving plate. I added some vinyl onto mine to pretty it up. For the marker, I secured it to the back of the plate with some velcro to make sure that it's always close at hand because goodness knows, we lose pens/pencils like crazy. Just like you lose matching socks....we lose pens. Super annoying.
I think the thing that makes this piece is the easel. I got this awhile back from Tai Pan Trading. I've found similar easels at Hobby Lobby for around $5 or so if you use a coupon.
And there you have it. A quick Mother's Day gift that took you all but 5 minutes (maybe) to make and is under $10.
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!
